The climate in India varies considerably from one
area to another which means that no matter what
time of year you wish to come to India you will
always find an area to suit your climate
preference. Being north of the equator, the
coldest periods are from December to February and
the warmest are from June to September. The
Monsoon usually starts in late June/ early July
and continues through to the end of August.
If you are travelling during the
summer months (late June to August), but want to
get away from the heat, the hill stations and
mountains in the North (the Himalayas) or in the
Southern Western Ghats are ideal destinations. In
the winter (late November to February/ March),
head south to the beaches, temples and backwaters
of Goa, Kerala and Tamil Nadu
